I founded Jessi’s Bookkeeping and Financial Services after becoming disillusioned with the corporate accounting world. I worked for a large firm that was focused more on its bottom line than truly helping its clients. I decided I wanted to do things differently, so I took a leap of faith and quit my 9 to 5.

My priority is to provide personalized attention to you and your business. After examining your finances, I will take the time to sit down with you and review my findings. We’ll discuss where you’re doing well and how we can improve your current systems. I am committed to being honest and straightforward with my recommendations. If there are issues with your current financials, I will let you know and work with you to find a solution.

In addition to open and honest communication, I will scale my solutions to fit your business and budget. Small business owners don’t need the same services as a large corporation, and individualized quotes allow you to only pay for what you need. And since I live and work in South Dakota, I am available for questions during normal business hours.

Jessi's Story

Growing up in South Dakota, I saw many small businesses fail because they couldn’t afford to get the financial help they needed. This issue disproportionately affected minority communities and sparked my passion for providing affordable financial solutions and education to business owners.

After a few years of working in a traditional accounting firm, I realized I wasn’t helping people and small businesses the way I wanted to. I needed the freedom to take an extra 15 minutes with a client without explaining the discrepancy to my manager. So, after saving for a few years, I started my own South Dakota accounting business focusing on providing honest and affordable financial services to businesses nationwide.

Since I scale my solutions to the business, I can work with individuals, small businesses, and larger organizations. In addition, good bookkeeping practices are the same regardless of the industry, so I work with non-profits, service-based companies, e-commerce, and brick-and-mortar stores. I also offer services to individuals who want help with their personal finances.
